London Trip - PARIS!

We were super duper lucky to be given train tickets to Paris for our birthdays too. We left London super early Monday morning to make the most of our 4 days in Paris.

MONDAY - We took the Eurostar at 7am, which meant we arrived in Paris about 10am. We took a taxi to our hotel, and had a bit of a chill before heading out to explore.

Eurostar Selfie

We headed out to find a little bistro Jesse wanted to eat at. It was right near our hotel. We both had the Croque Monsieur. And then we ordered the Comte.

omg so good. We were still pretty tired, so we just took a walk along the river to Notre Dame

After the walk back, we had a nap until dinner. We went just round the corner to another place that Jesse wanted to try. The food was simple, good ingredients done well, no pomp. It was yummy. I had the pate, confit duck and then tarte tatin.

TUESDAY  - I won't lie. I was most looking forward to breakfast.

Just perfect!! After we'd enjoyed our breakfast, we took a walk to Musee D'Orsay. I did manage to walk us the wrong way. For some reason it took me a while to get my bearings. But, we got there in the end!

After a wander around the Museum, we headed to Le Petit Jacob and proceeded to have the best meal we had in Paris.

OMG this lentil salad was to die for. Could have eaten double this.

I had the parma ham sandwich. Omg that lettuce was amazing.

Jesse had onion tart

of course I had a nutella crepe to finish!
After lunch we went back to the hotel for a little nap. When we woke up we decided to have a walk through the Tulleries before dinner. I have never ever seen Jesse eat so much as on this trip. I was still full from lunch, but he ate a croissant. And then an ice cream.

We decided to stop and have a pre-dinner drink too. Jesse ordered a giant beer

We went to try to find a restaurant that Jesse wanted to try, but when we got there they said they were closed for a private party. When we walked past later that night on our way home, it certainly didn't look like it, we think they didn't like the look of us. Too bad for them, because we ended up at a place that had nutella creme brulee.

Best burger I ate all trip. The meat was so delicious.

On the walk back to the hotel, Jesse convinced me to buy a beret. And the photobombed me.

WEDNESDAY - We decided to have patisserie for breakfast.

Jesse challenged me to eat the creme brulee without a spoon. I accepted, and nailed that challenge.

After breakfast we went to the Louvre to see the Egyptian Antiquities before heading to the hotel for a a lunch of bread and cheese and a nap before Moulin Rouge

It was so much fun! If you are in Paris, it is so worth the money. This is the second time I've been, and it's just fun!!

THURSDAY - We didn't do a lot today. We were pretty tired, and ready to head back to London. We ate some breakfast, checked out of the hotel, went to Sacre Coeur, ate some lunch (The best creme brulee I've ever eaten) bought some treats to take back to London, and then headed to the train!

Stay tuned for our last week in London!

London - Days 4-7

It seems that we have so much time, yet not enough time at all left. I am nowhere near ready to leave. I feel so immensely at home here. I do, however, miss my animals and my dresses!

Anyway, onwards with the rest of week 1!

THURSDAY - We hit up the Natural History Museum, only to find this!

WHAT!!?!?!?! I was so annoyed! But, we still saw some awesome things. Like this giant cell and giant baby

After we had seen everything we wanted to see, we headed down the road for a pie. Omg so good.

We decided to have a wander round the science museum while were were there too. Then we head back home for a rest before going to see Jenny Lewis at the Islington Assembly Hall.

She was absolutely amazing. I really didn't know what the expect, but her voice is so powerful. The album recordings really don't do it justice. This show was up there in one of the best I've seen. I was just utterly enthralled through the whole show.

FRIDAY - We decided to take it easy. We went over to Brent Cross to do some shopping. On the way home we stopped at a little pub down the road for lunch. I had an awesome burger, and then this even more awesome sticky toffee pudding.

We went to see a movie in the evening. Lucy. Don't bother with it. It was terrible. But I did get this frozen cherry tango, and a mixture of sweet and salty popcorn, so the night wasn't completely ruined.

SATURDAY - On Saturday we headed to Camden Lock. I know it's very samey samey these days, but it still has a special place in my heart. I remember my aunt taking me there when I was about 14, and it was so totally amazing. I still get that feeling when I go there.

We started with Nutella waffles and coffee

I was super looking forward to checking out the Collectif store there, and I came home with a new skirt (which will make an appearance in a post soon!) and a crop top. As well as the most amazing gold hedgehog bag from a little stall. I also couldn't resist some outfit shots

Cardigan - Target. Dress - Junarose. Stockings - City Chic. Shoes - New Look. Bag - Kate Hill

We then made our way to my aunts to visit her local farmers market. All the stuff looked absolutely amazing, we didn't buy anything, because we were headed to Paris, but I couldn't resist the raspberries. They were sooooo cheap!

That evening we went to a local smokehouse for dinner. You always know it's going to be good when they have rolls of paper towels on the table.

I had ribs. And mac & cheese. And Bourbon banoffee pie. omg. o.m.g.

SUNDAY - We headed down to my Aunts where there was a street party happening. We met up with my Cousins and had an amazing burger at the pub before checking out my other Cousins stall

Check her stuff out here!
Most of the trains were down, and the traffic and buses were mad, so we decided to walk home across Hampstead Heath. It took us about 50 minutes, but was an absolutely gorgeous walk. We didn't get up to much in the evening because we had to get up super early for Paris. I did have this chocolate ice and raspberries though!

Phew! What a busy few days!! Next up PARIS!!

London Days 1-3

We are having a lazy day today after a super busy 4 days in Paris. So, I thought it would be a good opportunity to blog! I'm going to break it all up, because, well otherwise the posts would be so super long even I would probably give up reading them :)

MONDAY - Was pretty uneventful. We landed about 6.30am and by the time we go our bags (they put ours through on the wrong baggage reclaim carousel, just ours, and we honestly thought out luggage was lost) and made our way to Grandmas, we were ready for a nap. Once we woke up and freshened up, we headed into Oxford street to sort out our phones and do a bit of shopping. We hit up the M&S food hall, which I had been sorely missing, and headed home to feast on our bounty.

TUESDAY - We went to the National Portrait Gallery. It's one of my favourite galleries, and I used to work in Covent Garden when I lived here, so was a lovely spot to stroll around in a break. While we were waiting for them to open, we strolled down to Trafalgar Square and took some photos of the large blue cock.

After the gallery we took a stroll to Covent Garden. There was a wine bar there that Jesse wanted to try, but nothing on the menu took our fancy, so we had some amazing pizza instead.

On the way home we decided to stop off at Oxford Street again and hit up Primark. After we both hit the shopping jackpot, we headed home for a bit of a rest before meeting my Aunt and Cousin for dinner.

We went for a walk on Hampstead Heath and then went to a lovely little restaurant near there for dinner.

Needless to say we were absolutely exhausted by the time we got home!!

WEDNESDAY - We headed into Borough Market to go to a lovely little Natural Wine bar there. Jesse had met the manager in Perth recently. It was seriously one of the nicest lunches we've had. We ended up staying for nearly 3 hours.

The food was absolutely excellent. We were stuffed by the time we rolled outta there.

We had booked on a Jack The Ripper tour in the evening, and didn't really have time to go home, so we made our way to Shoreditch so Jesse could visit a perfume shop there. He spent a good 45 minutes smelling all their fragrances before deciding on the one he wanted. Then we strolled down to Whitechapel and made ourselves cosy in The Ten Bells until our tour started.

I absolutely had a blast on the tour. The guide was excellent, very funny and charming. He also used 'Ripper Vision' which meant he projected images of the crime scenes, photos of the victims, and pictures of the buildings onto the walls. It was so interesting. I highly recommend it.

We finished out the night with a not-so-great curry in Brick Lane before falling into our beds.

I'll be back soon with Days 4-7!!
